Smiling Otter offers a full range of White water kayaking instruction, rentals and straight out white water adventures! The West Kootenays offer challenges to all levels of paddlers: ice cold adrenaline pumping creeks; warm, clear, gently flowing rivers; and outlandish play spots.
The Slocan, our home river, is possibly one of the premier teaching rivers in the Province of British Columbia as well as being one of the warmest! It offers a diversity of challenges to novice and intermediate paddlers and the advanced play-boater. Our courses range over the full spectrum, from beginner to expert.
Learn to white water kayak this summer. Our exceptionally patient instructors will initiate even the most hesitant of beginners into the exciting world of white water kayaking! They range in length from a single day to five days.
